And here are some of the expressions we have seen today:

Apart from Marcela and Ricardo who are new at Cultura Inglesa, we have been studying at Cultura for some time. Patrícia has been here since Junior 3!

Talk about your job: Technical/ Business Vocabulary

We have a variety of professional areas and interests in this group. There are 3 lawyers, 1 Physicist, 1 Environmental Consultant, 1 Electrical Engineer and a few students who are still studying: there is one student of medicine and 4 students in high-school (one intents to do Catering studies at college, one wants to do a course in Fashion Design and two students want to do Journalism). 25% of the students in this group have just left university and are staring their professional careers.

Paulo, who is an Electrical Engineer, works at Eletropaulo and he is a manager in the area of new projects. Currently he is working on a research project for alternative forms of energy. (…)
Talk about your school:

Four people in this group are still students. Rafael, studies at Porto Seguro and he is in the 3rd grade of high-school he wants to be a Journalist. His favourite subjects are History, Geography and Maths. Patrícia also wants to be a Journalist and she is also in the 3rd grade of high school, but she studies at Colégio Palmares. They study everyday in the morning and they also have classes in the afternoon twice a week.

Márcio and Cássio are both lawyers and they both graduated from PUC. Márcio studied in Santo André and Cássio studied at Colégio Arquidiocesano, in São Paulo. They both loved Maths and Geography at school. (…)
Talk about your language needs and wants: Learning Goals

Most of us felt we need English to express ourselves more fluently. Quite a few people (60% of the class) felt we want to improve our writing skills and express ideas in a clear and objective way, so that people can understand what we are saying. Many of us expressed the need to improve vocabulary and be more fluent.

Paulo and Renata emphasized that they are studying English so they can communicate better with foreigners and also because English is useful to get a better job. Paulo works with English every day. He has to write emails and read manuals in English. But the other students do not have to use English every day. Rafael and Marcela have to speak English on the phone everyday with foreigners from their company. So they need to improve their speaking and listening skills
